Originally known as Virgin Blue Airlines, Virgin Australia (VA) is Australia second-largest airline. It also owns two subsidiaries: low-cost carrier Tigerair Australia (TT) and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VA). Founded in 2000, it operates from hubs at Auckland Airport (AKL), Brisbane Airport (BNE), Melbourne Airport (MEL) and Sydney Airport (SYD). Virgin Australia flies to about 50 destinations, the majority of which are domestic. International destinations include Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Tonga, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Vanuatu. The airline's fleet of 110 aircraft is primarily configured with two cabins, Business Class and Economy Class, though some planes also feature Premium Economy Class.
