Airline Overview

Founded in 1996, WestJet (WS) is the second-largest carrier in Canada. It operates from hubs at Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Edmonton International Airport (YEG), Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG) are focus cities. It also has a subsidiary, WestJet Encore (WR). Including Encore flights, the airline flies to about 90 destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe. The airline also has codeshare agreements with 13 other carriers. Its fleet of 140 planes consists of Boeing 737 variants and Boeing 767s, as well as Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NextGen operated by WestJet Encore.
